Education is based on a local curriculum drawn up within the framework of Finland's National Core Curriculum for Pre-primary Education (2014) which has been implemented from 2016. Early childhood education and care, pre-primary and basic education form an integrated whole progressing consistently following the child’s development.

Montessori believed that sensorial experiences began at birth. Through his senses, the child studies his environment. Through this study, the child then begins to understand his environment. The child, to Montessori, is a “sensorial explorer”.

The elementary program offers a continuum built on the preschool experience. The environment reflects a new stage of development and offers the following:

Integration of the arts, sciences, geography, history, and language that evokes the native imagination and abstraction of the elementary child.

Presentation of the formal scientific language of zoology, botany, anthropology, geography, geology, etc., exposing the child to accurate, organized information and respecting the child's intelligence and interests.

The use of timelines, pictures, charts, and other visual aids to provide a linguistic and visual overview of the first principles of each discipline.

Presentation of knowledge as part of a large-scale narrative that unfolds the origins of the earth, life, human communities, and modern history, always in the context of the wholeness of life.

The Montessori Language Program is designed in such a way that all activities gear themselves naturally toward the development of the skills required for oral and written language and reading. Language development is also encouraged in the classroom because of the freedom of conversation allowed to the children.

The purpose and aim of Montessori Practical Life Program is to help the child gain control in the coordination of his movement, and help the child to gain independence and adapt to his society. It is therefore important to “Teach teaching, not correcting” (Montessori) in order to allow the child to be a fully functional member in his own society.
